Quality Control Manager
Position Overview
Sprint Mechanical is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Quality Control Manager to lead and oversee quality assurance and quality control operations on large-scale industrial, semiconductor, and data center construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems are installed in strict accordance with contract documents, project specifications, company standards, and client requirements. The Quality Control Manager will establish, implement, and maintain project-specific quality programs while working collaboratively with field leadership, project management, and client representatives. Experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers and semiconductor facilities is strongly preferred. This position operates within highly technical and regulated construction environments. The Quality Control Manager must maintain professionalism, uphold strict quality standards, and collaborate effectively with clients, field teams, and trade partners to ensure successful project delivery. The Quality Control Manager plays a critical leadership role in delivering high-performance mechanical systems in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Program Leadership

Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCP)

Establish inspection and testing protocols in alignment with project specifications

Lead quality meetings and coordinate with project leadership
-
Supervise Quality Control Inspectors and support staff
-
Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Inspection & Compliance Oversight
-
Ensure mechanical installations (HVAC, piping, process systems, equipment) meet contract requirements
-
Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and approved shop drawings
-
Verify compliance with industry standards and client-specific quality requirements

Oversee inspection checkpoints throughout all phases of construction
Testing, Commissioning & Turnover

Oversee pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, and startup activities
-
Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure readiness
-
Ensure documentation completeness prior to system turnover

Manage punch list and closeout processes
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain quality logs, inspection reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)

Track corrective actions and verify resolution
-
Ensure accurate as-built documentation and turnover packages
-
Support internal and client audits
-
Maintain inspection logs, checklists, and quality reports

Review and verify redlines and as-built documentation

Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution

Support turnover documentation and commissioning packages
Client & Trade Partner Coordination

Serve as primary quality liaison with client quality representatives

Support third-party inspections
-
Collaborate with subcontractors and field supervision to resolve quality issues
Quality Assurance & Inspection

Perform daily inspections of mechanical installations (piping, HVAC, process systems, supports, equipment setting)

Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, submittals, and industry standards
-
Monitor installation activities to ensure quality standards are met before, during, and after work execution

Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with field supervision
Testing & Verification

Witness and document pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, and startup activities
-
Verify installation readiness prior to testing and commissioning
-
Ensure compliance with cleanliness standards (especially in semiconductor/cleanroom environments)
Coordination & Compliance

Participating in coordination meetings related to quality and compliance
-
Work closely with client quality teams and third-party inspectors
-
Ensure compliance with client-specific quality requirements and project QMS standards
-
Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
Required
-
5+ years of mechanical construction quality control experience
-
Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, structural and process systems
-
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
-
Experience leading quality inspections and managing documentation
-
Strong organizational and leadership skills

Experience in data center or semiconductor facility projects

Knowledge of cleanroom construction and contamination control protocols

Familiarity with commissioning processes in mission-critical environments

OSHA 30 certification

Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or digital documentation platforms

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
