Quality Control Inspector

Position Overview

Sprint Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to support mechanical construction operations on mission-critical projects. Experience in data center and semiconductor facility construction is strongly preferred. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for ensuring work is performed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, company quality standards, and client requirements. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-performance systems in technically demanding environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and the ability to collaborate effectively with field teams, project management, and client representatives. This position operates within highly technical, fast-paced construction environments. The Quality Control Inspector must maintain professionalism, uphold quality standards, and work collaboratively with project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Inspection

  • Perform daily inspections of mechanical installations (piping, HVAC, process systems, supports, equipment setting)

  • Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, submittals, and industry standards

  • Monitor installation activities to ensure quality standards are met before, during, and after work execution

  • Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with field supervision

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain inspection logs, checklists, and quality reports

  • Review and verify redlines and as-built documentation

  • Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution

  • Support turnover documentation and commissioning packages

Testing & Verification

  • Witness and document pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, and startup activities

  • Verify installation readiness prior to testing and commissioning

  • Ensure compliance with cleanliness standards (especially in semiconductor/cleanroom environments)

  • Coordination & Compliance

  • Participating in coordination meetings related to quality and compliance

  • Work closely with client quality teams and third-party inspectors

  • Ensure compliance with client-specific quality requirements and project QMS standards

  • Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of quality control or inspection experience in mechanical construction

  • Strong understanding of HVAC, piping, and/or process systems

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Experience with inspection documentation and reporting tools

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Experience in data center or semiconductor facility projects

  • Familiarity with mission-critical environments

  • Knowledge of cleanroom construction requirements

  • Experience with pressure testing and mechanical system commissioning

  • OSHA 30 certification

  • Knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, or similar project documentation platforms
