Field Safety Technician

Position Overview

Sprint Mechanical is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Field Safety Technician to support construction operations at various project locations. This role is responsible for promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and site-specific requirements, and supporting the safe execution of work in a high-performance, mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in large-scale industrial, semiconductor, data center, or advanced technology construction environments and demonstrate strong communication, observation, and leadership skills. The Field Safety Technician plays a critical role in protecting our workforce and delivering mission-critical projects safely, efficiently, and with excellence. Key Responsibilities

Field Safety Oversight

  • Conduct daily jobsite safety walks and hazard assessments

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, different state safety regulations, and client site-specific standards

  • Monitor high-risk activities including:

    • Confined Space Entry

    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

    • Energized Systems

    • Elevated Work & Fall Protection

    • Rigging & Material Handling

    • Hot Work

  • Verify proper use of PPE and enforce company safety policies

  • Stop unsafe work when necessary

Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) & Planning

  • Assist crews and foremen with development and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)

  • Participate in pre-task planning meetings

  • Identify potential hazards before work begins

  • Promote hazard recognition and proactive risk mitigation

Incident Prevention & Investigation

  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions

  • Document findings and assistance with corrective action plans

  • Track safety observations and follow up to ensure closure

Training & Orientation

  • Conduct new employee safety orientations

  • Facilitate toolbox talks and daily safety briefings

  • Support ongoing safety training initiatives

  • Ensure all workers meet site access and required training standards

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain safety logs, inspection reports, and documentation

  • Assist with OSHA recordkeeping requirements

  • Support internal audits and client safety inspections

  • Ensure compliance with company and client site safety protocols and permit systems

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of construction safety experience

  • OSHA 30 (Construction) certification

  • Strong understanding of construction safety regulations

  • Experience with high-risk activities (LOTO, confined space, fall protection, energized systems)

  • Ability to work in active industrial or semiconductor construction environments 

Preferred

  • CHST or equivalent safety certification

  • Experience in semiconductor, advanced technology, or data center projects

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Knowledge of cleanroom protocols
